Canon East Sacramento offered a remarkable flight menu for New Year’s Eve. Ambitious, to say the least, the experience was nothing short of magical with delightful drink pairings designed to accompany the seven magical flights, a total of 26 separate delights, brought to our comfortable outside table.

Even if it was December 31, the outside seating is still manageable at this local eatery. Delightfully appointed and comfortable, the heating was adequate and, to be honest, after a few drinks, the occasional brisk breeze was pleasant and kept us alert.

While the drinks were delightful, the food was exquisite and ranged from magical triangles of perfectly prepared wagyu beef to a meyer lemon sorbet with honeycomb crumble. Off all the items, it was hard to pick a favorite, but as the entire 3-hour meal was magical, we’ll definitely be returning again to what is fast becoming a Sacramento dining staple.
